Roshni Gohil will help you learn ways to build inclusive data visualizations in dashboards, presentations, memos, and other documents by applying accessibility best practices to your design. Explore principles of universal design, its impact, and key features to ensure better usability for all.

Attendees can expect to learn how to: 

• Understand the impact of design choices on the consumers' ability to see, understand, and use your dashboards, presentation decks, and other documents.
• Recognize accessibility features built into data visualization tools like Tableau, office productivity software like PowerPoint, Word, and Acrobat Reader, and how to ensure what you produce maximizes their usefulness.
• Understand universal design (UD) and how UD concepts help you build products that are better for all your data consumers, presentation and document audiences.

Roshni Gohil is an analyst at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). While not knee-deep in data and Tableau, she tries to push user-centered design, business analysis, and project management processes and methods on sometimes unsuspecting colleagues. She started out as an accidental data analyst and has spent the last decade analyzing data for the MIT endowment, with roles supporting both the fundraising and investment arms of MIT. Roshni co-founded and co-leads the Higher Education TUG (HETUG) and MIT's internal TUG, and co-leads the Accessibility TUG (a11ytug).
